Russetfang slowly padded up to the edge of the murky pond. Every cat in Shadowclan knew that if you got to close you could slip and plummet right into the water. No matter what her knowledge was the calico she-cat still dared the slippery banks. She finally settled down, her tail neatly wrapped around her paws and her head craned down toward the water. You couldn't see the bottom nor half of what swam in it, but a reflection of yourself always appeared on the surface. The dull green eyes of the she-cat glared at the image of herself, a small smile crept on her face in satisfaction of what she was seeing.
It was suddenly rudely interrupted by the face of her father and taunts spilling from his mouth, "You are a disgrace" "A poor excuse for a clan cat" "You will never be a great warrior!". Russetfang lashed out with her paw making the reflection disappear in the waves of the water. Almost losing her balance she regained her posture and stared out across the pond, now not wanting to gaze back into the water. [/blockquote]

"Are you alright Russetfang?" asked Angelfeather gently, carefully padding over to the fellow Shadowclan cat with a concerned expression. She had been out for a stroll, and had scented the deputy sitting in the murky wasteland. She was graceful on her paws, and she ever so slowly sat down next to Russetfang with kind eyes and a sweet smile,"We don't want you falling now do we?" She giggled lightly, before looking into the waters herself, carefully studying her features with a gentle smile. A sudden image of her mentor came, smiling at her with his charming smile and she quickly changed her gaze to across the pond, ignoring the painful memories that flooded back.
After a few moments, she turned to the deputy, seeming to understand now why she had almost fell. Her eyes went soft for a second, and she wondered if she should ask the calico about it. Her onyx orbs continued to gaze at the deputy, before turning back to across the pond and speaking softly,"What did you see in the pond?"

A slight smile crept on Russetfang's face at Angelfeather's comment about falling in. The smile soon vanished as she went back to the thoughts about her past, thoughts that she wish weren't swarming her mind day after day. They sat for a few beats of silence than the question from Angelfeather came up, "What did you see in the pond?". Russetfang debated on answering it, but maybe a talk with one of her clanmates was all she needed. "It was my father" Russetfang meowed a hint of madness in her voice. "He made me the person I am today, well the other side of what you see or the rest of the clan sees".

"Your father," she repeated, before listening quietly while her starshine ears with sky-blue tinge twitched, and her white whiskers flicked gently. Her half tail attempted to curl around her, and once Russetfang was finish she only gave her tender smile, her anything but intimidating eyes giving off warmth,"I understand that must be hard. Your parents pressuring you and thinking of you as nothing. The queen that looked after me was the same way...she never really cared." Her eyes shifted back out across the pond, before turning back to the deputy,"I think you're a good deputy, warrior, clanmate, and cat overall, Russetfang. Your father was wrong with his words." She gave a sweet smile before continuing,"Maybe, it's best if you forget them, because just letting them haunt you will get you nowhere."

The she-cat kept a steady nod to everything Angelfeather was saying. It made Russetfang feel really good to hear the comforting words coming from her clanmate. Unfornatley trying to forget him was the hardest part to do, Russetfang's father has haunted her for so long that the she-cats life circled around the toms words. Her hot temper and the determination to be the best are the effects of him. "I wish I can forget, believe me I have tryed many times. He just never seems to go away." Russetfang meowed her head hung low in the depressing words.

Snowfur poked his head out from under a bush, scenting the two she-cats. Flicking his ears he wiggled out. He padded over to them, dipping his head in greeting, "Hello Russetfang, Angelfeather." he mewed, a white shadow peeking out from behind him. His sister Icewing, dipped her head aswell, not speaking as usuall. Just like always Icewing was trailing after her brother, being as she was uncomfortable being around to many others without him near. "H-h-hello." she managed to speak, before growing quiet again. Most cats in the clan were used to her quietness and accepted it quietly. But others found her unsettling and tried to stay away from this strange white cat who doesn't like to talk.
Snowfur smiled again and nudged Icewing gently and turned back to the two others. His vibrant, almost a neon blue, eyes were unlike Icewings. Her eyes, well are diffrent. One eye is the same color blue as Snowfurs, and the other is a dark, forest green. "How are you two?" he asked them, settling down in a dry patch and curling his fan like tail over his grey and white paws.

Russetfang glanced up at Snowfur and Icewing. She dipped her head back to them in greeting. The calico she-cat felt weird, the presence of her two clanmates suddenly made her belly churn in feeling acquired. Russetfang knew she couldn't expect cats not come by here, it was of course there territory as well as the deputy's. Icewing surprised the she-cat being as she was uncomfortable around a bunch of her own clan mates but felt secure around Snowfur. Russetfang shrugged it off, anyway she was used to the she-cats limited speaking. In the mist of her thoughts, "How are you two?" was asked by Snowfur, she shook her head and straightened up. "Well I have been better" the she-cat meowed trying to hide the sadness in her voice.

Snowfure wasnt completely sure she was completely fine but he shrugged it out, thinking, "If theres something wrong, that she doesn't wish to speak about, Then I am in no postion to pry into her personal buisness[/i] He smiled and purred, "Well maybe we could help make your day even better?"

Angelfeather was about to reply, until her sensors caught the presence of Snowfur and Icewing, the two close-knit siblings she had known to be very interested in. Her onyx gaze stared at them gently, warmth in everyone inch of her body while her stump-of-a tail of a silver hue and sky-blue patches thumped in an attempt to swish. She gracefully licked a tinged paw of the same silver and blue hues, before speaking sweetly,"Greetings you two, how has your day been going?" Angelfeather loved Icewing. She may have seemed shy, but the she-cat knew she could be very sweet and kind, making her want to get to know her more.
It seemed that only the brother of the two could connect with her though, and for that Angelfeather was grateful. She understood how it felt to have no one understand, and she kept that warm aura to her as she stood and shook her different yet stunning pelt. Her sleek and gorgeous head turned to lick her shoulder, before she turned it back and smiled at the siblings, then Russetfang.
